What kind of brewery is it?
Tenryohai Shuzo is in Kamo-utashiro, Sado, Niigata, and descends from Sado Meijo, formed in 1983 by the merger of three Sado breweries. In 2008, when that company ran into difficulty, Senichi Kato, then 24, took it over. It brews with soft subsoil water from Mt. Kinpoku, Sado's highest peak. Since the 2019 brewing season it has used only Sado-grown rice and polishes it all in house. Utashiro, launched in 2019, is light and clean with a gentle sweetness.
