What kind of brewery is it?
Takeshige Honke Shuzo was founded in 1868 (Meiji 1) when the 12th head of the Takeshige family began brewing. The family is said to have settled here in the early Edo period as retainers of the Takeda. Its 30 buildings are nationally registered tangible cultural properties and have served as film locations. Since its founding it has kept the traditional kimoto method, which draws in natural lactic acid bacteria, and uses Tateshina subsoil water (soft) and rice grown in Nagano. Its Misonotake label is known as a sake the poet Wakayama Bokusui wrote about.
