What kind of brewery is it?

History

In 1717, in the rice-growing area of Yame, the first-generation head Rokuroemon Takahashi opened a brewery. The ninth head, Takekichi, strengthened its base, and when the tenth, Shigetaro, made it a company in 1926, the brand Shigemasu was named after the first character of his name and the wish that the measuring box would keep prospering. The nineteenth generation now leads it. Over more than 300 years it has kept a hand-crafted Chikugo tradition, raising koji with care in a wooden koji room. Besides sake it makes shochu such as Koujiya.
