What kind of brewery is it?

The brewery began in 1782 when the first Nishioka Hanuemon, from Omi, opened a sake and pawn storehouse called Omiya in Makabe, Hitachi Province. It took the name Nishioka Honten Co., Ltd. in 1951, and in 2010 the eighth head, Yuichiro Nishioka, became president. It sits at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba, where it uses local rice and subsoil water filtered through granite.

What makes it distinct

Hananoi is made from only rice and water, relying on the rice and the brewery's own well water.
Also
Meishoki uses rice, water and yeast all from Sakuragawa City.
Ingredients
EIGHT-GOU is brewed at the Makabe brewery from ancient rice grown in the Yasato area.
