What kind of brewery is it?
The brewery began in 1844 in Nakatsu, Oita, originally under the brand Tsuru Tenshin. After its sales office near the Yawata steelworks made it popular in Kitakyushu, it moved in 1931 to the foot of Mt. Sarakura in search of clean spring water, and renamed the brand Tenshin. Today most of its sake rice is Kitakyushu-grown Yamadanishiki from a local farmer, and it brews with water from wells on its grounds.
