What kind of brewery is it?
The brewery has made sake in Gosen since its founding in 1865 and was incorporated in 1951 (Showa 26). Its toji were traditionally from the Nozumi school, one of the Echigo toji groups. Today the sake is made by company employees rather than a toji group, building on the inherited skills. Since 2003 it has also grown its own sake rice in fields at the foot of the mountains near Suganadake.
