What kind of brewery is it?
The founder Hirai Rokuemon moved from Ise Matsusaka in the Genna era and ran an inn in what is now Hiduume, Shiwa. In the An'ei era the sixth generation began sake brewing. A company was set up in 1929, merged into Morioka Shuzo during the war, and became independent again in 1954. It was renamed Kikunotsukasa Shuzo in 1968 and merged with Hakosho Shuzoten in 1975, inheriting the Shichifukujin brand. After a business transfer in 2021, the head office and plant moved to Nagayama, Shizukuishi, in 2022.
