What kind of brewery is it?
Founded in 1913 by the first-generation Gitaro Baba, the brewery began making sake that November, drawn by the Yoshino River subsoil water, the cold winters and rice grown in the district. In 1916 a fragrant sake was brewed and was welcomed locally. It was named Hosui to keep that aroma and after the Yoshino River, which earlier poets called by that name.
