What kind of brewery is it?
The brewery began making sake in 1855 (Ansei 2), when the first generation started brewing, and the present head is the sixth generation. Sakai in Ibaraki lies on the Tone River facing Seki-yado in Chiba and has been a transport hub since the Muromachi period. The name Tokumasamune is said to come from a saying about the joys and sorrows of life with sake.
