What kind of brewery is it?
Founded in 1898, the brewery was first named Ikeda Jozo Goshi Kaisha and was known for the Kikyo Masamune and Seiko Zakura brands. In 1949, after the war, the brand was renamed Daisekkei, after the great snowfield on Mt. Hakuba, and the label lettering was written by the poet Oka Fumoto. In summer 2016 the 150-year-old main house was reborn as the brewery-run shop Kamon Daisekkei.
What makes it distinct

- Brewing water is natural snowmelt subterranean water from the Northern Alps.
- Master brewer
- The toji belongs to the Otari toji guild of Nagano.
- Ingredients

Visiting
- Tours
- Shop
Brewery visits are possible only when staff are available to guide, with an inquiry required by the day before. From May to September no brewing takes place, so only the facilities can be seen. The shop Kamon Daisekkei is open every day including weekends and holidays, 9:00 to 18:00, with tastings available.
