What kind of brewery is it?

History

The brewery dates from 1681, when Yahachiro Hara, of the Hara clan line, began brewing under the house name Yoshida. The name became known in the surrounding villages. It became a joint-stock company in 1929, and in 1963 it moved from its cramped site to Nagatoro in Saku. It brews with groundwater from the Chikuma River and the Asama range and also makes shochu. A direct-sales shop is on site, and the rice-polishing house and ageing store can be seen free of charge by reservation.
