What kind of brewery is it?

The brewery dates from the Genroku era (1688 to 1704), though the exact year is unknown. It continued brewing through the Edo and Meiji periods, became Imaruya Jozo Co., Ltd. in 1954 from a personal name registration, was renamed Wakaba Jozo Co., Ltd. in 1963, and became Wakaba Co., Ltd. in 1981. In the 10th and 11th generations it also made soft drinks such as cider and ramune. The 13th head and his successor-to-be now carry on the brewing.
