The company traces its start to the Tenpo era (1830 to 1844) and was incorporated in the 1930s. Under the slogan Ii sake, ii kao, Takamasamune it makes sake, barley, sweet potato and rice shochu, and liqueurs. Its affiliate Eirin Shuzo, set up in 1978, makes some of the shochu brands. It completed civil rehabilitation proceedings in June 2023 and holds ISO 9001 certification.
