What kind of brewery is it?
The brewery was founded in the Kanbun era (1661 to 1673) in Nara village, Tsuyama, a transport hub where the Takase-bune river boats ended their route and the Inaba highway crossed. For about 350 years it has used local ingredients to make sake meant for everyday meals. Its first sake was Kamogoyo, brewed with subsurface water of the Kamo River flowing from the foot of Mt. Nagi. Tsuyama beer began in 1996, and since 2001 it has also made liqueurs and shochu using local specialty ingredients.
