What kind of brewery is it?
The brewery traces its founding to 1702, when the first head of the family, Kozaemon Yoshinobu, began brewing with rice that had been collected as annual tax. The company was incorporated in 1953 under the twelfth-generation head. Aged sake production began in 1997, and the Kozaemon brand was launched in 2000. From 2007 it brewed only with sake rice grown in Mizunami, began kimoto brewing in 2009, and in 2018 added a new brewhouse, moving from winter-only brewing to year-round brewing.
