What kind of brewery is it?
Matsuzaki Shuzo was founded in 1892 (Meiji 25). It began with the founder, who ran a koji-making business. Its founding brand Hirotogawa takes its name from the former name of the Shakushado River, which flows through the east of Tenei village near the brewery. The brewery sold its sake locally for generations and began selling nationwide in 2011. Most of its rice is Yume no Ka grown in Tenei or elsewhere in Fukushima, and the brewery holds technique as its first principle. The sixth-generation kura-moto toji leads the brewing team.
