What kind of distillery is it?
The first generation head was drawn to the good water that flows under the brewery, the same source as the spring at the foot of Mount Shiraga, and began making shochu. The shochu became known locally, and the brand Matsunoizumi took its name from the family name Matsu and the word for spring. A nikkei tree at the entrance has stood at the site since the founding, more than 120 years. Today the brewery grows rice in its own paddy beside the shochu house, and that rice is used for Suikyomushi.
