History

The distillery was founded in 1834 (Tenpo 5), and its main shop stands in the old townscape of the port town Aburatsu. It keeps to fermentation in earthenware pots buried in the ground and to hand-made koji. Its signature bottles are Kameshizuku, made with Kotobuki sweet potato, and Kane Kyo Kanro, made with its own Koganesengan potatoes. Through an agricultural company it also grows its own potatoes and rice.
