What kind of brewery is it?

History

The Konishi family began in Itami as dealers in medicinal herbs in 1550 and made sake its main trade from around 1612. The name Shirayuki, meaning white snow, is said to come from the snow-capped Mount Fuji seen by the second head of the family on the way to Edo, and it is described by the company as the oldest sake brand still in existence. The old brewery now houses Shirayuki Brewery Village Chojugura, with a museum of brewing tools, a shop and a restaurant.
