What kind of brewery is it?

History

The brewery branched off from Kiku no Tsukasa of Morioka and was founded in Ishinomaki in 1861. It was long known under the name Niiseki, until fifth generation Takahiro Hirai turned to quality ginjo brewing and launched Hidakami in 1990, named after an old name of the Kitakami river. It aims for a soft mouthfeel and a crisp finish to pair with Sanriku seafood. The 2011 tsunami damaged the brewery, which was rebuilt and reopened.
