History

The brewery was founded in November 1892 in Tendo, drawing on local water and rice. In 1980 it released Oka Ginjo at a time when the word ginjo was little known to the public, helping bring the style to a wider audience. Its stated aim is to make ginjo a word understood worldwide, and it exports abroad. It also runs the Dewazakura Museum of Art near the brewery and has a second brewing site in Yamagata City.

Visiting
