What kind of brewery is Daitengu Shuzo?
The brewery was founded in 1872 and marked its 150th year in 2022. While clearing the storehouse used at its founding, the family found two tengu masks in a wicker trunk, took them as a gift and a good omen for brewing, and named the sake Daitengu. The fourth-generation president has led the company since 2000, and about 80 percent of the sake is drunk within the city. The busiest time is the three days of the October festival at the local Adatara Shrine.
