What kind of brewery is it?
History
The brewery was founded in 1875. Nikata is a port town ringed by three mountains and the Seto Inland Sea; in the Meiji era it had nine sake breweries and ten soy sauce makers, and now only this brewery and one other keep brewing. Forced to stop during the war, it revived afterwards, and in 1988 the fifth-generation head set a quality-first course and focused on ginjo. It brews with seepage water from Mt. Noro. Ugo no Tsuki takes its name from a passage by the novelist Roka Tokutomi and aims for light aromas and a clean finish.
